Wedding Dresses
Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 12:00AM Now that bachelorette weekend is checked off the list (photo documentary here, here, here, and here), the next step of getting ready for Bruce and Annette's Fourth of July wedding is picking out something to wear. I'm leaning toward a dress with a fun and vibrant print because both adjectives make me think of Annette. I've been pinning a few possible picks. Like...
This kind of has a Fourth of July sparkle, right? Modcloth's "shine and dandy" (like Yankee Doodle!) dress. The hitch is that my size is sold out right now.

I've been seriously considering a maxi length; feels so summery. I love this option.

This caught me eye, but the price tag is $60....eeeehhhh.....

Better price, but not quite as striking.

LOVE the fun print and style of this one, though I wish I could try on in a store.

After seeing a pink maxi shirt paired with a simple white tank top, I started thinking about going in that direction. I found this gorgeous UK option (is international ordering a pain?) and (below) a better price (though not as lovely) Target sample.

- How cute are all our toes?!
- After an almost nine hour day of walking around, we were ready to eat! I chose a little Italian place, a short walk from the bed and breakfast The fresh meatballs with linguine were sooooo good!
- I highly recommend Leoci’s Trattoria in Savannah.
- Sunday morning was rainy and a bit cool, so Annette suggested that we drive down to a little coffee shop to pick-up chai tea while Gina, who is not a morning person, was getting ready for our 10am breakfast. Annette and Mickie made me drive the terrorist Mercedes!
- Another delicious breakfast, which we again ate on the veranda while the rain continued to drizzle down.
- Our last stop before heading out was River Street because I had to get Joey some pralines!
- Though we were all tired, we had just as much fun on the drive home! We have declared the weekend to have been the inaugural trip of a new tradition!
Awesome weekend. Lots of memories. I love those ladies!

- The only place that any of the ladies specifically mentioned wanting to go was the home of Juliette Gordon Low, who founded the Girl Scouts of America. When Gina was a little girl, she was part of a scout troop that helped dedicate the building.
- The tour guide did a great job; lots of interesting little tid bits. The house has been well maintained, including lots of Gordon Low furniture and relics.
- In the courtyard, there was a plant that you have to see to really grasp the huge size. Like a mammoth aloe.
- We walked and walked some more. There’s just so much to see.
- We dropped in little shops and cracked ourselves up continually.
- The Paris Market is one of the best known stores there. Two floors of random, unique, and quirky things.
- My linen romper was perfect for the day, except I had to unbutton and drop the whole piece anytime I went to the bathroom!
- We stopped in a wig and hat shopped and gave ourselves fits of giggles until the owner came and starred us down with his hands on his hips…
- You see so many interesting details and feature while walking the City. This was a little ally where we pretended to be locked up for all the “trouble” we were causing!

- When you check into The Forsyth Park Inn, they asked you what time your group would like to be seated for breakfast. We chose 10am. Really excellent and fresh food!
- After breakfast, we set out again. The weather was perfect. We just dropped in and out of places that we found interesting along our meandering route.
- There are lots of little quirky shops with quirky items.
- We passed a car with a dashboard covered in little figurines! “The windshield menagerie!”
- The streets are just gorgeous and shady. The town in perfect for walking. We didn’t use the car from Friday, when we arrived, until Sunday, when we left.
- The SCAD store is very cool. Lots of unique things to see and buy! Note: I did not buy this piece!
- We cracked up over this book title, which we declared to be one of the mottos of the weekend!
- Annette surprised each of us with a little gift from a shop that we stopped to visit. The little three-legged pig is “given to friends as a token of goodwill and love.”
- Annette has a favorite little café for chai tea, which I love, so we stopped there for a bit. Even the bathroom walls were eclectic! And the chai tea was the best that I’ve ever had!
