Fresh Out of Lemons has gone "pro!"
When I decided to start a blog, one of my biggest priorities was that the page look pretty and as professional as possible for a beginner. I’m majorly impressed by anyone that can decipher the “poetry” of css code, which is how sites are designed. However, my attempts felt like taking one step forward and two steps back. I was thrilled when something worked out, but completely lost when something went wrong. Then I came across Squarespace.
Squarespace is a fully hosted, completely managed environment for creating and maintaining a website, blog, or portfolio.
They offer a two week free trial period, so I signed up and life got easier. There are still a lot of elements that I want to add to my page (sponsors would be awesome), but I feel like I’ve at least created the start of an identity and I’ve really been enjoying the creative outlet.
So, last night, I took the next step and registered for the “pro-package.” I could have chosen the $8 a month basic, but I splurged because the next level up allows me to keep my direct url. When I found a coupon code for 10% off my monthly fee, for the lifetime of my registration, I took the unexpected savings as a sign that I’d done the right thing:
I’ve been treating this process as a project with bench markers of success. Squarespace has all kinds of neat tools for tracking the interest in your blog. I literally squeal with delight anytime my subscriber count goes up— grow little number, grow!
I want to thank everyone who’s encouraged me. Though I’m grateful just to have my work read, I super appreciate when someone takes the time to send a nice message.
And, if you want to make my day, let your family and friends know about Fresh Out of Lemons. :)
